Beloved Retired P.E. Teacher Vince Muchow Passes Away, Leaving St. Albert the Great School in Mourning

St. Albert the Great School is mourning the loss of Vince Muchow, a recently retired physical education teacher who passed away, leaving behind a legacy of joy, dedication, and love for the community he served.

Vince Muchow was a beloved figure at St. Albert the Great School, known for his energetic personality and commitment to his students. Throughout his career, he was a familiar presence on campus, engaging with students not only in P.E. classes but also during carpool duties and various school events. His dedication extended beyond teaching, as he often volunteered for parish activities, bringing joy to countless students and families.

Mr. Muchow’s approach to physical education was both creative and fun. He was known for dressing up in silly costumes during theme days and playing lively music to keep his classes engaging. His innovative games, such as Missouri Kickball, Toilet Tag, Capture the Flag, and Stuck in the Mud, were popular among students. Vince’s ability to create a supportive and inclusive environment made him a favorite among students and staff alike.

The news of his passing has left the St. Albert community in shock, with many expressing their condolences and fond memories of Vince on social media.

Stephen DeMuth shared, “Devastating news. Vince was so kind and always smiling. He’ll be missed!”

Pam Pirrmann Brunner mentioned, “My granddaughters could hardly believe it. Even though he retired at the end of the year, I know all the kids and staff will cherish their memories.”

Sadie Hardy, a former student, wrote, “He was my PE teacher for 11 years. He was always happy and smiling and was truly one of the best teachers. My prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Holly Nickols Crosiar commented, “He made such a lasting impact on so many of our babies. May he be greeted with wide open arms in heaven. RIP.”

Star Adams expressed her sorrow, “My heart breaks for the St. Albert community. Mr. Muchow was someone who the kids loved to see every day. Sending big love and prayers to all Vikings today!”
