Minneapolis, Minnesota – Tragedy struck over the weekend as 15-year-old Tyra Terry, affectionately known as Brooklyn, lost her life in a fatal shooting that occurred inside a residence on Logan Avenue North just before 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Tyra’s family is demanding answers as they mourn her untimely death. According to her aunt, Terenza West, the circumstances surrounding Tyra’s presence at the location remain unclear. "She shouldn’t be gone," West lamented, expressing deep sorrow and frustration. "We should have answers right now. We should know exactly what happened right now. We shouldn’t be left wondering."
Minneapolis police have yet to provide further details regarding the incident, leaving the family in anguish and the community in shock. Chief Brian O’Hara commented on the tragedy, acknowledging the devastating loss and the broader implications, whether related to gun safety issues or the rise in youth violence. "The loss of a 15-year-old girl is a heartbreaking tragedy," O’Hara stated.
Tyra’s older sister, Shaquila Brown, also expressed her grief, highlighting that Tyra was a "wonderful kid" who did not deserve to fall victim to gun violence.
As the investigation continues, no arrests have been made. In memory of Tyra, her family has organized a vigil, set to take place on Monday evening, where the community will gather to honor her life and demand justice.
