65-Year-Old Melanie Dudley Killed in Loganville Car-Motorcycle Accident on Highway 78

Atlanta, Georgia – Melanie Dudley, a 65-year-old resident of Atlanta, tragically lost her life in a severe car-motorcycle accident on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Loganville. The fatal collision occurred on Highway 78 near Skyland Drive at approximately 8:20 p.m.

According to Brett Fowler, the public information officer for the City of Loganville, the accident involved a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Brenda Rushing of Loganville, Georgia, and a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Thomas Mason of Madison, Georgia. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to Northside Gwinnett Hospital. Unfortunately, Melanie Dudley, who was involved in the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries she sustained.

The Loganville Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) is currently investigating the details of the collision, but no further information about potential charges has been released at this time.

The tragic news has left family and friends in deep sorrow, as reflected in several heartfelt messages posted on Facebook. Emily Autumn Brooks expressed her grief, stating, "Saturday night my best friend and her brother received the worst news you could imagine. Their mother was in a very bad accident and unfortunately didn’t make it. Life is too short… please hug your loved ones SO TIGHT."

Other individuals also shared their condolences, with Lindsey Bentley Queen commenting, "Many prayers going out to them!" and Jill Kitchens-Palenzuela adding, "So very sad to hear this news. I am sending up so many prayers for the family."
