Alan Mair of Inverness Passes Away Peacefully at 94, Funeral Scheduled

Inverness, Scotland – Alan Mair, a well-known and respected member of the Inverness community, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 94. Mair died at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 18, 1930, Alan Mair lived a long and fulfilling life. He was known for his commitment to his work as a wholesale manager at Watson & Philip, where he made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry. Beyond his professional life, Mair was a former president of the Fraser Park Bowling Club, where he shared his passion for the sport and fostered community spirit.

Mair’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of his family and the broader community. He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret Mair, a loving father to his children, Alan and Carol, and the late Mary. His family, which also includes his daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, was central to his life, and he was cherished for his warmth and kindness.

The funeral service for Alan Mair will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home of William T. Fraser and Son, located on Culduthel Road in Inverness. All who knew Alan are welcome to attend the service and celebrate his life. Donations in his memory can be made to the Highland Hospice, either at the service or through the provided link.
