Annette Santos, Esteemed CMHA HR Team Member, Passes Away, Leaving Colleagues and Community Mourning

Cleveland, Ohio – The Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) community is mourning the loss of Annette Santos, a beloved and esteemed member of their HR team. Annette, who had dedicated over 25 years to the organization, passed away on August 22, 2024. Her passing has left a significant void among her colleagues and the wider community she served so devotedly.

Annette Santos was more than just a colleague; she was a pillar of the CMHA, embodying the true spirit of "CMHA CARES" through her unyielding dedication to employee well-being. Throughout her career, she managed a wide array of responsibilities, including organizing employee benefits, overseeing wellness programs, and facilitating job opportunities. Her efforts had a profound impact on countless lives within the organization and beyond.

The CMHA family remembers Annette for her professionalism, warmth, and the unwavering support she provided to everyone she worked with. CEO Jeffrey K. Patterson spoke of Annette’s impact, saying, "She was not just a colleague but a friend to many of us. Everyone who had the pleasure of working with her saw her warmth and dedication. Her death is greatly mourned by everyone in the CMHA community, as she embodied the true meaning of selfless giving."

The broader community has also expressed their grief over Annette’s passing. Numerous friends and colleagues took to social media to share their memories and condolences. Iris Cartagena wrote, "Today, my heart is heavy as I remember a wonderful friend and coworker who has passed away. Your laughter, kindness, and friendship will be deeply missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing you. You brought light into our lives, and your memory will live on in the hearts of everyone you touched. Rest in peace."

Militza Rosa and Rey Galindo also shared their sorrow, and Michelle Alvarado-cruz posted, "My beautiful amiga for over 40 years. I will miss you every day and remember all of our secrets. We laughed and cried together, and those memories I will cherish forever. May your soul be at peace until we meet again. Love you forever."
