Barbara Louise Logan Pendry, Beloved Member of Calvary Baptist Church in King, NC, Passes Away at 87

Dobson, NC – Barbara Louise Logan Pendry, a cherished member of the King community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the age of 87. Barbara, born on November 20, 1937, in Guilford County, NC, was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was known for her unwavering faith and dedication to her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 68 years, Glenn Ronald Pendry, her son Rick Pendry, and her brothers Paul and Billy Logan. Despite these significant losses, Barbara remained a pillar of strength for her surviving family members, including her son Keith Pendry and his wife, Gwen, as well as her sister Betty Logan. Her grandchildren, Kip Pendry and Amber Schosser (Travis Bennett), along with her great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, will continue to cherish the memories they shared with her.

A lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in King, NC, Barbara found great fulfillment in her relationship with the Lord. Her warm spirit and generous heart were evident in the way she touched the lives of those around her. Barbara was particularly known for her delicious pound cakes and her passion for gardening, which brought joy to both her and her loved ones.

A private graveside service in honor of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM. The Pendry family has expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson for the exceptional care provided during Barbara’s final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the hospice home or Calvary Baptist Church, reflecting Barbara’s lifelong commitment to her faith and community.

Many in the community have shared their condolences and prayers for Barbara’s family on social media. Bob Ward simply expressed "Respects," while Gloria Collins posted "Rip." Becky Thompson shared that she is "Praying," and Carol West added, "Prayers for her family."
