Belize City Resident Dimitre DeAndre Usher Dies in Fatal Shooting Near Puma Super Station

Belize City, Belize – Dimitre DeAndre Usher, known as DeAndre Usher, tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting on the evening of Sunday, August 25, 2024. The incident occurred around 8 PM near the Puma Super Station, located at the corner of Cemetery Road and Johnson Street.

Reports indicate that a group of men was socializing at the location when a lone gunman, disguised with a shirt and armed with a Tec-9 machine gun, opened fire on the gathering. DeAndre Usher was struck multiple times. He was rushed to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, seeking to uncover the motive behind this deadly attack and to bring the perpetrator to justice.

The news of Usher’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, especially among those who knew him as a talented footballer. He was a striker for Ebony Lake FC, a football club that is now mourning the loss of one of their own. The Ebony Lake FC Family expressed their grief on Facebook, stating, "The Ebony Lake FC Family is heartbroken by the untimely passing of our striker and humble colleague Dimitre DeAndre Usher…RIP Dim…another youth gone too soon, another life cut short."

The football community and friends have shared their condolences and memories of Usher online. Chris Martinez wrote, "Sleep on balla, you surely made an impact in the football community." Denroy Alvarez added, "Rest in perfect peace ‘Dim,’ humble youth." Other messages included "RIP & Rise in Glory Baller" from Ba Lance, "Rest easy my nigga" from Tevin Ambush, and "Rest in peace young man" from Dee Jenkins.

The entire community is reeling from the sudden loss, and many have taken to social media to express their sorrow and offer support to Usher’s family and friends. Natasha Gutierrez shared, "My deepest condolences," while Martha Stamp expressed, "My deepest condolences to his football team players and my deepest condolences to his entire family. May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen."
