Carrollton, Texas Community Relieved as Missing Senior with Dementia, Jessie Nugent, Found Safe

Carrollton, Texas – The Carrollton community experienced a tense evening as police and residents rallied together to find Jessie Nugent, a 71-year-old man diagnosed with dementia, who went missing from his residence on Valez Drive earlier today. Jessie was last seen around 6:30 PM wearing a grey shirt with a maroon shirt underneath and blue jeans. He was reportedly searching for his truck, a common behavior associated with his condition.

As the news of his disappearance spread, many in the community expressed their concern on social media. "It’s so hot! Praying he is found safe," wrote Vickie Carlton Lesley. Other concerned residents echoed similar sentiments, with Ann Marie stating, "Praying he is found safe," and Allie Love adding, "I’m praying he is found safely."

Fortunately, the Carrollton Police Department provided an update at 7:37 PM, announcing that Jessie Nugent had been found. The relief was palpable across the community. MaryDee Burch Moore simply posted, "He has been found!" while Denton County Crime Stoppers, who had also shared the missing person alert, expressed their hope for a swift resolution.

However, the incident raised concerns among some residents about the care provided to Jessie. "Staff was not doing their job. Poor thing, he was sundowning to go home," commented Meesh Cure Altz, reflecting the frustration felt by some over the situation.

The safe return of Jessie Nugent has brought a sense of relief to Carrollton, but it also serves as a reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by those living with dementia and the critical importance of community vigilance in such situations.
