Cassie Boorn, a 37-year-old resident of Peoria, Illinois, has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on August 16, 2024, in Kewanee. The accident took place at around 3:15 p.m. near the intersection of Henry County Highway 5 and N 500th Avenue. Emergency responders, including police, fire, and EMS, were quickly dispatched to the scene following reports of a severe crash involving serious injuries.
Boorn, who was driving one of the vehicles, sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries in the collision. She was initially treated at the site before being airlifted via LifeFlight Helicopter to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center. Despite the aggressive efforts of medical personnel, Boorn was pronounced deceased at 7:55 p.m. the same day.
The Peoria County Coroner, Jamie Harwood, confirmed Boorn’s identity and the cause of death as injuries inconsistent with life. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the crash to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragic incident. Toxicology results are pending as part of the ongoing investigation.
