Catoosa Community Unites to Support Peggy Alfers’ Family After Her Sudden Passing

Catoosa, Oklahoma – The community of Catoosa is coming together to support the family of Peggy Alfers, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Peggy was a beloved figure known for her kindness and the joy she brought to those around her. Her sudden passing has left her family and friends heartbroken and unprepared for the financial burden of her memorial expenses.

Peggy Alfers, remembered for her radiant smile and warm heart, leaves behind her daughter, Keri Baze, and her grandchildren Chandler Baze, Hayden Baze, and Alexis Sanders. Peggy’s close friend, Beth Bey, has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Easing the Burden: Peggy Alfers’ Memorial" to help cover the costs associated with her funeral and burial. The goal is to raise $1,000, and as of today, $250 has been raised through three donations.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Beth Bey shared her grief and called on the community for support, saying, "Hello everyone. As you may know, we lost Peggy Alfers yesterday. For those of you who have asked me how to help, first, please pray for all those who are left behind. Lastly, I ask you to thoughtfully consider assisting the family with a small monetary donation. Peggy did not have life insurance, and this will be a tremendous help to the family."

Others in the community have also expressed their sorrow and shared their memories of Peggy. Stephen Howard, a former colleague at Whirlpool, wrote, "I worked with Peggy at Whirlpool. She was one of the good ones!! I’m so sorry for your loss but excited for her!! She got to go on." Bonnie Parham Arthur, another mourner, reminisced, "So sorry! I went to school and church with Peggy. Always such a sweet girl. Praying for comfort for the family!!"

The fundraising effort reflects the strong sense of community in Catoosa, as friends and neighbors come together to support Peggy’s family during this difficult time. As the campaign progresses, donations and prayers continue to pour in, helping to alleviate the unexpected financial stress on her grieving family.

Anyone interested in contributing to Peggy Alfers’ memorial fund can do so through the GoFundMe campaign, with all proceeds going directly to her family to cover the costs of her service and burial.
