Chad Lee McKean of Towanda, PA Passes Away at 37 in Tragic Motorcycle Accident

Towanda, PA – Chad Lee McKean, a 37-year-old resident of Towanda, Pennsylvania, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2024. Born on November 30, 1986, in Towanda, Chad was the beloved son of Carol L. McKean and the late Francis “Stick” Chilson.

Chad was raised in Rome, PA, where he lived on the Hottle family farm and developed a deep love for the outdoors and hard work. Following his education, he continued working on the farm, embodying the values of dedication and resilience that defined his character. On January 7, 2012, Chad married Deanna Lynn Harris, with whom he shared a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

For the past two years, Chad was employed by Evergreen Oilfield Solutions, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. His passion for the outdoors extended into his hobbies, including gardening, fishing, hunting, and a love for speed, especially when it came to four-wheelers, dirt bikes, cars, trucks, and motorcycles. His motto, "go fast or don’t go," captured his zest for life.

Chad’s warmth, generosity, and caring nature left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was known to be the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help a friend in need, and his absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the wider community.

The tragic news has prompted an outpouring of condolences on social media. Susan Roberts posted, "Condolences to the family," while Betty Bahr Kennedy simply wrote, "RIP." These sentiments reflect the deep sense of loss felt by those who knew Chad.

Funeral services for Chad Lee McKean will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Homer Funeral Home, located at 83 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA. Interment will follow at Bradford County Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday evening, August 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
