Chino Community Mourns the Loss of Hailey Schmeling, 28, as Fundraiser Gains Momentum

Chino, California – The Chino community is rallying to support the family of Hailey Schmeling, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 28. Hailey, a beloved member of the community, left a lasting impact on everyone she met with her joyful spirit and dedication to helping others.

A GoFundMe campaign titled "Honoring Hailey Schmeling: Community Support Needed" has been organized by her mother, Cathy Schmeling, to assist with funeral expenses and provide support to the family during this difficult time. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $630 out of a $25,000 goal, with donations coming in from friends and community members alike.

Hailey’s journey began at Ontario Christian School, where she was known for her vibrant personality. She later attended Chino High School, graduating in 2014. Her involvement in the church and community was profound, from volunteering at her high school and Sunday school to spending time with residents at a local senior living facility. Hailey also had a passion for attending events at Knott’s Berry Farm and enjoyed participating in the Montclair Mall Walkers group.

The community has expressed an outpouring of love and sorrow on social media. Jenna Van Beek wrote, "Unfortunate events have happened, and I seriously don’t know how to process things. I miss you so much, and I love you and your family very, very much. Times are hard, Hailey Schmeling, you are loved, and you are missed. I don’t know if you will ever know how much of a light you were on this earth."

Other community members also shared their condolences. Kimberley Albers-Messick commented, "So sorry to hear this! Praying for all of you," while Ilene Schneider simply stated, "I am so sorry!"

The Schmeling family has expressed their gratitude for the community’s support and patience during this challenging time. As they navigate their grief, they will share information about the service dates once confirmed.

The fundraiser continues to gather support, reflecting the deep connections Hailey made throughout her life and the collective effort to honor her memory.
