Cleveland, OH Resident Matt Davis, Known as "Mad Dawg," Passes Away at 51, Memorial Fundraiser Launched for Family Support

Cleveland, Ohio – Matt Davis, affectionately known as "Mad Dawg" by friends and colleagues, tragically passed away on August 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 51 years old. Matt was widely recognized not just as a loving father and husband but also as a mentor and friend who touched the lives of many.

Matt Davis, a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Jen, and father to their three children—Mitch, Charlie, and Grace—was known for his exceptional people skills. He had a successful career at Sherwin-Williams, where his colleagues admired him for his unique ability to prioritize the well-being of his team. Those who worked with him often remarked on how rare and valuable his approach was, making his loss felt deeply within his professional and personal circles.

In the wake of his passing, a GoFundMe campaign titled "Mad Dawg Memorial Fundraiser" has been organized by Jim Corniello. The fundraiser aims to support Matt’s wife and children as they navigate the financial challenges following his death. The community is encouraged to contribute to the fund, helping to alleviate the burden of expenses incurred and those yet to come.

In addition to online donations, a memorial fundraiser event is planned for Friday, October 18th, at Rookies Sports Bar in Parma Heights. The event, which will run from 6-9 PM, offers attendees an opportunity to honor Matt’s memory with $30 all-you-can-eat and drink, along with games and baskets to support the cause.

Those who knew Matt Davis are encouraged to come together to celebrate his life and continue his legacy of kindness and generosity. The support and involvement of the community are greatly appreciated by his family and organizers.
