Community Mourns the Loss of Nelia Rushman Drilon, Beloved Ambridge Resident, and Celebrates Her Legacy

Ambridge, Pennsylvania – Nelia Rushman Drilon, a cherished member of the Ambridge community, passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 59. Born in the Philippines to Lea and Narcisco Drilon, Nelia’s life journey brought her to Ambridge, where she became a beloved figure, touching the lives of many through her kindness, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering hospitality.

Nelia was known for her dedication to her family, which included her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless friends who considered her as family. She found joy in seeing her family grow and flourish, always offering a welcoming space for anyone in need. Her home was a haven of warmth, where no one was left out, and everyone was made to feel like part of the family.

In Ambridge, Nelia was more than just a resident; she was a pillar of the community. She owned multiple successful businesses and was a certified Zumba instructor, spreading joy and health through her classes. Her love for karaoke was well-known, and her vibrant personality made her a cherished presence at any gathering.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, located at 547 8th Street, Ambridge, PA. Visitation hours are scheduled from 12 PM to 2 PM and from 4 PM to 6 PM. Nelia’s legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In memory of Nelia, a GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Laura Marchetti to support her memorial fund. The fundraiser aims to cover the funeral costs and assist with estate planning for Nelia’s children and grandchildren. As of today, the campaign has set a goal of $8,000.

Nelia’s passing has resonated deeply within the community, with many taking to social media to express their condolences. Terry Pasteur wrote, "I know this lady somehow just can’t place her, R.I.P." Kathy Taylor simply said, "Rest In Peace." Others, like Janet Szuchy, shared, "Rest in peace Nelia," while Karen Brown added, "She will definitely be missed." The outpouring of love continued with messages from Andrea DiNino, Suzanne Dancison Bosh, Amanda LeggeKoncewicz, and Beth Mcgoff, all expressing their sorrow and fond memories of Nelia.
