Community Mourns the Loss of Veniamin Gundarev, Staten Island Resident, and Rallies to Support His Family

Staten Island, NY – The Staten Island community is mourning the sudden passing of Veniamin Gundarev, who died at the age of 40, leaving behind a grieving family, including his wife, two children, mother, and brother. As the family navigates this difficult time, the community has come together to offer their support and assistance.

Ilya Svidler, a close friend of Veniamin, initiated a fundraiser to help alleviate the financial burdens faced by the family. The fundraiser, launched just yesterday, aims to raise $25,000. So far, $40 has been donated, with Ilya expressing deep gratitude for any support provided during this challenging period.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Ilya Svidler shared, "With broken heart I have to inform that our dearest friend Veniamin Gundarev had passed away at age of 40. He is survived by his wife, two children, mother and brother. In this difficult time, we are coming together as a community to support his family in any way we can." He added, "Rest in peace my dearest friend, you will be greatly missed but never forgotten."

Other members of the community also expressed their sorrow on social media. Heather Perez Sterlin commented, "I’m so sorry for your loss. May the memories of good times be a small comfort during the waves of grief." Similarly, Mike Sterlin wrote, "I’m so sorry for your loss, brother."

Veniamin was remembered as a man of great character, kindness, and strength. He had a deep love for nature and enjoyed outdoor activities like hiking and camping, where he felt at peace. His impact on those around him was profound, and his presence will be sorely missed.
