Community Mourns the Passing of Jonathan Dollaga in Tracy, California

Tracy, California – Jonathan Dollaga, a beloved member of both his local community and the broader faith community, passed away on August 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and service. Born on January 27, 1978, in Bani, Pangasinan, Jonathan was deeply rooted in his faith from a young age, which shaped his life and the lives of those around him.

Jonathan was known for his deep commitment to the Lord, actively serving in various ministries throughout his life. He was a dedicated member of the United Church of Christ Philippines in Baguio and later invested his time with the Family Church of Praise in Tracy, where he participated in the choir, directed Christmas plays, and engaged in numerous other ministries. His passion for helping others led him across the Philippines, where he joined Embrace and Reach Mission Trips, contributing to medical and dental services, coordinating travel, and more.

He was also a respected educator, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Medical Technology from the University of Baguio, followed by a Master of Arts in Education from Union Christian College. Jonathan touched many lives through his teaching career, particularly during his time at the College of Nursing, where he served for six years.

Jonathan’s passing has sparked an outpouring of grief and heartfelt tributes on social media. Arleane Echano shared her memories, stating, "Your friendship has been a true treasure in my life, and I am grateful for every moment we had spent together. Till we meet again, my friend." Other friends and acquaintances, including Celeste D-w and Jaime Batuyog Jr., expressed their deep sorrow and condolences, highlighting the impact Jonathan had on their lives.

In memory of Jonathan, a fundraiser organized by his sister, Katrina Dollaga, has been launched to support the family’s needs during this difficult time. The goal is to honor Jonathan’s legacy by continuing his mission of helping others, just as he did throughout his life.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Jelly Dollaga, and his sister, Katrina Dollaga. He is dearly loved and will forever be missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
