Bend, OR – The community is coming together to support Chuck Vermillion, who is facing the final stages of his battle with persistent health challenges. After nearly two months of hospitalization at St. Charles in Bend, Oregon, Vermillion has made the difficult decision to transition to hospice care, as all medical treatment options have been exhausted.
A GoFundMe campaign, organized by Jordan Vermillion, has been established to assist with Chuck Vermillion’s final expenses, including end-of-life care, funeral arrangements, and memorial services. As of today, $2,875 has been raised towards the $10,000 goal, with 38 donations from friends, family, and community members.
Jay Osiris Blumenkraft shared on Facebook, “Chuck Vermillion is a good guy going through some really hard times. He helped me out a few years back when I was in a bind, and if anyone can help pitch in on his GoFundMe, he needs and definitely deserves a little help, even if it amounts to just helping make the end of his story a little less awful.”
The fundraiser has seen contributions ranging from $10 to $100, showing the community’s heartfelt desire to ease the financial burden on the Vermillion family during this challenging time. The Vermillion family expressed their profound gratitude for the support, kindness, and prayers they have received.
The GoFundMe page highlights the emotional and financial difficulties of this period, stating, "The transition to hospice care, while compassionate, brings significant financial challenges, including funeral and related expenses."
Those wishing to contribute can still donate through the GoFundMe campaign, helping to ensure that Chuck Vermillion’s memory is honored with the dignity and respect he deserves. The family deeply appreciates all who have been part of Chuck’s journey and continue to support them during this difficult time.
