Community Urgently Seeks Help as 13-Year-Old Destinee N Britton Goes Missing in Kankakee, IL

Kankakee, IL – The community of Kankakee is rallying in support of the family of 13-year-old Destinee N Britton, who has been missing since August 17, 2024. As fears grow for her safety, loved ones and friends have taken to social media to share their concern and plea for her safe return.

Destinee was last seen in Kankakee, Illinois, and there is a possibility that she may remain in the local area or travel to Indiana. Authorities have noted that she may be wearing a white brace on her right hand, which could be a distinguishing feature for those who might see her.

The Kankakee Police Department is actively investigating the case and is urging anyone with information to come forward. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) has also issued a poster and is assisting with the efforts to locate Destinee.

Family members and friends have expressed their distress and hopes for Destinee’s safe return. On Facebook, Bri Britton shared an emotional message, pleading, "Please get my baby homeeee! Baby please come homeee we love you it’s scary out there!! You can come homeeee." Another post by Barbara Davis shows support for the family, echoing the community’s collective concern.

Deshawn Britton also expressed his sorrow, stating, "I’m so sorry to hear this cousin I hope she’s home safe soon."

The Kankakee Police Department has urged anyone with information to contact them at 1-815-933-3321 or the NCMEC’s 24-hour Call Center at 1-800-843-5678. The community remains hopeful for Destinee’s safe return as efforts to locate her continue.
