Muscatine, Iowa – Darrell Allchin, a 48-year-old resident of Muscatine, tragically lost his life in a car accident on Friday, as confirmed by the Iowa State Patrol. The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Taylor Avenue and Highway 61 in Muscatine County.
The accident involved two vehicles: a 2024 Nissan Rogue and a 2021 Dodge Durango, both traveling southbound. According to reports, the Nissan Rogue failed to stop at a stop sign before entering Highway 61, where it was struck by the Dodge Durango. Darrell Allchin succumbed to his injuries following the crash. It remains unclear which vehicle he was in at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Dodge Durango, a 26-year-old woman, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The 53-year-old driver of the Nissan Rogue was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further medical care.

Gege Wilson added, "My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. I knew Brian personally and it definitely saddens me to hear this."
