Delores Mae Steinmetz of Butte, MT, Passes Away at 87, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Love and Dedication

Butte, Montana – Delores Mae Steinmetz, a long-time resident of Butte, MT, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on August 1, 1937, in Chinook, MT, Delores was the eldest of four siblings. She graduated from Chinook High School in 1955, just two weeks before marrying Adolph Steinmetz, Jr., with whom she shared a remarkable life.

In 1966, Delores and Adolph moved their young family to Butte, where they established their home and built a successful business, G&S Upholstery. Delores was also employed at Mutual of Omaha before retiring from Crest Nursing Home. During her retirement, she and Adolph enjoyed the best of both worlds, spending winters in Arizona and summers in Montana. They made countless friends through their travels, whether touring the country on their Honda motorcycle or exploring in their bus.

Delores is now reunited with her husband, Adolph, their son Richard, her parents Raymond and Lois Hanson, and other loved ones who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Karla Aldred and Twylla Carpenter, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home. Delores will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Wayrynen-Richards Community Center.

The family expressed deep gratitude to the staff at Beehive Homes and the Legion Oasis for their compassionate care during Delores’s final days.

Many have taken to Facebook to express their condolences. Julie Tresidder shared, "A wonderful lady who will be missed." Terri Boyle posted, "Jenna, so very sorry about your Gram, give your mom and dad our love." Terri Oehmcke added, "So sorry for your loss." Danene Petritz also commented, "Condolences to you and your family."

Delores Steinmetz will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to family, and the warmth she brought to everyone she met.
