Dennis Patrick Reilly of South Plainfield, NJ, Passes Away at Age 74

South Plainfield, NJ – Dennis Patrick Reilly, a longtime resident of South Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 74. His death occurred at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.

Dennis was born in Newark, NJ, to the late Frances and Francis Reilly. He spent his early years in Iselin before making South Plainfield his home in 1980. A dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service, Dennis enjoyed a long career before retiring in 2009. His commitment to his work was well-known, and he was an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 38.

Outside of work, Dennis found happiness in simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading the comics in the daily newspaper. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandson, Blake, who was the light of his life.

Dennis was predeceased by his wife, Judy Ann Reilly. He is survived by his daughters, Caroline Reilly and Meghan Erdmann, along with Meghan’s husband, Jim. Dennis’s brother, Glenn Reilly, and his in-laws Jerry and Carolann George, Jack and Patti George, and Jeff and Joan George also mourn his loss.

Visitation for Dennis Patrick Reilly will be held at the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, located at 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will take place at the same location on Thursday, August 29, 2024, beginning at 10:30 AM. Following the service, Dennis will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.

The family, friends, and community of South Plainfield will remember Dennis Patrick Reilly for his kindness, dedication, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
