Dora Labno of Plainfield, IL, Passes Away Suddenly Due to Stroke; Community Rallies for Support

Plainfield, IL – The community is mourning the sudden loss of Dora Labno, a beloved resident who passed away unexpectedly this past Sunday, August 25, 2024, due to a stroke. Dora was widely known for her caring nature and dedication to helping others, and even in death, she continues to give as an organ donor.

Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her family and friends. The outpouring of support has been significant, with many taking to social media to express their condolences and share memories of Dora.

One heartfelt message came from Edith Vicky Bibian, who posted on Facebook, “Good morning everyone. I’m sharing this in hopes it helps the Quintanilla Family. Recently learned one of my high school friends passed away this weekend suddenly and I’m at a loss. Beautiful inside and out. My heart breaks for this family as I’ve been close to them during the years and it just doesn’t seem real. May this whole family find comfort and peace during this terrible time. Unexpected and so sad. Please keep them in your prayers.”

Another moving tribute was shared by Jessica Pisarczyk Salcido, who commented, “My deepest condolences to you and her loved ones. Keeping you all in our prayers. Love you comadre.”

In the wake of Dora’s passing, a GoFundMe page has been organized by Mayra Mendoza to help cover the medical expenses and burial costs. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $2,155 out of a $50,000 goal, with 22 donations. Rosa Guerrero made the top donation of $500, demonstrating the community’s commitment to supporting the Labno family during this difficult time.

The family is still finalizing the details for Dora’s memorial service. In the meantime, they are asking for continued prayers and support. The community’s generosity and compassion have been overwhelming, reflecting the impact Dora had on those around her.
