Dorset Police Appeal for Information as Phillip Murray, 64, Goes Missing from Poole

Poole, Dorset – Dorset Police are urgently appealing for information from the public in their ongoing search for Phillip Murray, a 64-year-old man who has been missing since Sunday, August 18, 2024. Phillip was last seen at the Tesco superstore on Poole Road at approximately 11:20 AM.

Phillip Murray is described as being five feet seven inches tall, with a stocky build, short grey hair, and a noticeable limp. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a red T-shirt featuring "New York City" on the front, along with dark trousers and dark shoes.

Police Constable Ben McSorley of the Dorset Police Missing Person Support Team emphasized the urgency of the search, stating, “Phillip has been missing for five days now and we are very keen to locate him to ensure he is safe and well. I would urge anyone with information regarding Phillip’s whereabouts, or who has seen a man matching the description given, to please contact us. If Phillip sees this appeal, I would urge him to call us. We are all worried about you and just want to ensure you are OK.”

The community has also expressed concern over Phillip’s disappearance. John Gibson commented, “He gone missing I think he died,” reflecting the growing anxiety surrounding his whereabouts.

Dorset Search and Rescue, along with other organizations, have been actively sharing information to aid in the search. One user, Sam Admjn, highlighted the involvement of Phoenix: Bringing People Home, a group dedicated to reuniting missing individuals with their families.
