Dr. Cheryl Paradis-Fiedler of Elgin, Illinois, Passes Away After Brave Battle with Cancer

Elgin, Illinois – Dr. Cheryl Paradis-Fiedler, a highly respected OB/GYN and a beloved member of her community, passed away after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive form of Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma (CTCL). Dr. Paradis-Fiedler’s passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues.

Born on December 26, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Sandy and Hal Paradis. She grew up in Downers Grove, where her compassionate nature and intellectual brilliance began to shine. Cheryl pursued her passion for medicine at Loyola University Chicago, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her dedication to the field of medicine led her to Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Cheryl’s medical career was marked by her unwavering commitment to her patients and her community. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Michigan, after which she and her husband, Dr. John Fiedler, moved to Saint Charles, Illinois. Cheryl became a senior partner at Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare (MCWHC) and played a pivotal role in shaping the institution into a respected healthcare provider. Her calm demeanor, exemplified by her mantra, "never let them see you sweat," earned her the trust and admiration of her patients and colleagues alike.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cheryl was a devoted wife and mother. She and John raised two sons, JT and Nate, who were the center of her life. Cheryl’s love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, from their shared adventures to quiet moments at home.

Cheryl’s battle with cancer was fought with remarkable strength and resilience. Despite a successful stem cell transplant made possible by her sister Pam, Cheryl ultimately succumbed to an overwhelming infection during her weakened post-transplant state. Her bravery and warrior spirit throughout her illness were a testament to the person she was.

Dr. Cheryl Paradis-Fiedler leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and extraordinary accomplishment. She touched countless lives through her work and relationships, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her. She is survived by her husband, John, their sons JT and Nate, her father Hal, her sister Pam, her brother Todd, and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

As the community mourns her passing, they also celebrate the joy, compassion, and strength that Cheryl brought into the world. Her contributions to medicine and her unwavering kindness will be remembered for years to come.
