Elizabeth Cave, Victim of Donegal Town Car Crash, Passes Away Following Weekend Collision on N56

Donegal Town, Ireland – Elizabeth Cave, a resident of Donegal Town, has tragically passed away following a serious car crash that occurred on Sunday. Elizabeth, née Coburn, was one of three individuals involved in a collision on the N56 at Inver Glebe, which took place shortly before 9 a.m. on Sunday. She was rushed to Sligo University Hospital with severe injuries but, sadly, succumbed to those injuries earlier today, Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

The local community is deeply saddened by the loss of Elizabeth, who was well-known and cherished in Donegal Town. Gardai are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash to come forward with any information that might assist in their investigation.

As the news of Elizabeth’s passing spread, many took to social media to express their grief and share condolences. On Facebook, Denis Haire simply posted, "Rest. In. Peace," while Sarah Connolly and Margaret McGill also offered their condolences, with Margaret mentioning, "Condolences to her family and her sister Eleanor, may she rest in peace."

Others who knew Elizabeth well have also shared their thoughts. Breege Luby, Rosita Ward, and Caroline Maxwell all expressed their sorrow, with Rosita writing, "May she Rest in Peace. Condolences to her family," and Caroline adding, "Rest in peace Elizabeth, you were a lovely lady."

The messages of sympathy continued with Majella Mary Middleton, Pauline Jinks, and Hilary Stewart, all of whom conveyed their sadness at the loss of Elizabeth. Majella’s heartfelt words, "May she rest in peace," echoed the sentiments of many in the community.
