Henrico Firefighter Joseph Altorelli Tragically Killed in Richmond Motorcycle Accident

Richmond, Virginia – The community is mourning the loss of 20-year-old Joseph Altorelli, a dedicated volunteer firefighter from Henrico, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Richmond. The incident occurred early Sunday morning on North Laurel Street.

According to law enforcement, the crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. as Altorelli was traveling northbound on North Laurel Street. While approaching the intersection at West Grace Street, his motorcycle collided with a sedan that was making a turn. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Altorelli was pronounced dead due to the critical injuries he sustained.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. Authorities are still gathering evidence and seeking additional witnesses to piece together the exact details of the collision. The City of Fairfax Fire Department also shared their grief, stating, “Today, with heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to share with you the loss of our brother, Firefighter Altorelli. FF Altorelli was involved in an off-duty vehicle accident overnight and passed away today… Rest easy, brother.”
