Illinois National Guard Mourns the Loss of Spc. Noah Daniel Newman in Carrollton, Illinois

Carrollton, Illinois – The Illinois National Guard and the local community are mourning the loss of Spc. Noah Daniel Newman, who passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the age of 27. Born in Alton and raised in Carrollton, Noah was a dedicated member of the Illinois National Guard, having joined on March 12, 2020. He was well-known in his community for his love of football, commitment to fitness, and passion for helping others.

Visitation for Noah will be held at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Summit Grove Cemetery near Kampsville. In memory of Noah, his family suggests donations be made to Tunnels to Towers, an organization meaningful to him.

The Illinois National Guard expressed their condolences, stating, "As we honor Noah’s service and life, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."

Noah’s passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and support on social media, particularly on Facebook. Karen Frank shared, "Deepest condolences to family, friends, and soldiers. Thank you for your service." Diana Goetsch added, "God rest his soul and give peace to his family."

Other members of the community also expressed their sorrow. Glenna Fields Bozarth wrote, "My deepest sympathy to this soldier’s family and friends. May he rest in Heavenly peace. Thank you for your service to this great country." Bruce Tucker echoed the sentiment, saying, "RIP MY BROTHER IN ARMS AND THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE."

Noah’s service and dedication to his country will not be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. As the community comes together to say their final goodbyes, they hold on to the memories of a young man who lived with strength, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.
