Odell, Illinois – The community is mourning the loss of Joseph Jerald “Jerry / Craze” Hogan, who passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 65. Jerry, a resident of Odell, was well-known for his love of motorcycles and his deep affection for his family, particularly his granddaughter, Lorelai Hogan.
Jerry Hogan was born on May 26, 1959, in Pontiac, Illinois, to Joseph and Dorothy Overocker Hogan. He is survived by his three children, Nathon Hogan, Joseph Hogan, and Onyx Charron, as well as his granddaughter, Lorelai Hogan. Jerry also leaves behind eight siblings: Bob, Mick, Mary, Bill, Tom, Kathy, Tim, and Shari, along with his significant other, Diane Masching, who brought joy and companionship to his life in his final years.
Jerry was a lover of animals, always ensuring that the local squirrels and birds were fed. His days often ended with a bonfire, a tradition he cherished with Diane. Jerry’s passion for life and kindness made a lasting impact on those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26th, at 1 p.m. at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on the same day, with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Odell. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to assist with funeral expenses.
