Manassas, Virginia – Joshua Richards, a 40-year-old resident of Manassas, was found safe after being reported missing earlier this week. The Manassas City Police Department had requested the public’s assistance in locating Richards, who was last seen by his parents on Monday, August 19, 2024. His family reported him missing the following day after they had no contact with him and he failed to return home.
Joshua Richards, described as a light complexion Black male with green eyes, stands approximately 5’6" tall and has a medium to stocky build. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt, a blue shirt, and white sweatpants.
The search for Richards prompted widespread concern, with many community members taking to social media to express their hopes for his safe return. Teresa McPeak shared, "Praying he is found safe," while Weatherman Wayne Jones Jr. simply added, "Prayers." Beverly Woodmore also expressed her concern, writing, "PRAYERS FOR THE FAMILY AND HES FOUND SAFE."
The Manassas City Police Department provided an update on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 12:39 am, confirming that Joshua Richards had been located and was safe. He has since been removed from the missing person database.
