Joyce Aloha Swartz, Longtime Brazil, Indiana Resident, Passes Away at Age 95

Brazil, Indiana – Joyce Aloha Swartz, a cherished resident of Brazil, Indiana, passed away on August 25, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on June 9, 1929, in Logan, West Virginia, Joyce was the eldest daughter of Walter and Macie (Ray) Hull.

At the age of 14, Joyce moved to Brazil, Indiana, where she completed her education, graduating from Brazil High School in 1947. In 1951, she married Daniel Swartz, and the couple built a life rooted in faith and family.

Joyce was a devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil for over 65 years. Her deep commitment to her faith and community was a guiding light in her life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She is survived by her four sons, Danny, Henry, Eric, and John Swartz, as well as her siblings and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

In accordance with her wishes, private family services will be held at Summit Lawn Cemetery on Friday. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil, honoring Joyce’s lifelong dedication to her church and community.

Several individuals have expressed their condolences and shared their thoughts on social media. Cindy Slater Pflueger posted, “Prayers for the family,” while Peggy Brackney shared, “Great family.”

Joyce Aloha Swartz will be remembered for her kindness, faithfulness, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
