Kentucky State Police Search for Missing Rockcastle County Man, James Anthony Ackerman, Last Seen Driving to Somerset

Mount Vernon, Kentucky – Authorities are urgently seeking public assistance in locating 83-year-old James Anthony Ackerman, a resident of Rockcastle County, who was last seen on August 23, 2024. Ackerman, who has known heart issues, left his home in Mount Vernon around 11:00 AM, reportedly heading to a Lowes store in Somerset. He was driving a 2015 White GMC Sierra Pickup with Kentucky license plate 945-TGN.

James Ackerman is described as a white male, standing 5’11” tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds, with gray hair. His disappearance has prompted the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 11 to issue a Golden Alert, asking the public for any information that could help locate him.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Zachary Loudermilk, and anyone with details about Ackerman’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact KSP Post 11 in London at 606-878-6622 or 1-800-222-5555.

The community has been quick to respond, with many sharing their concerns on social media.
