According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Lena Godbolt was walking west on U.S. 701 near Sing Avenue when she was struck by a northbound sedan. Despite the swift response from emergency services, Godbolt succumbed to her severe injuries at the scene. Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard confirmed her death.
