Limestone, Maine – The Limestone community mourns the loss of Glenn Michaud, a beloved resident and dedicated community member, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the age of 71. Glenn, who had been battling cancer, was surrounded by the compassionate care of the staff at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle during his final days.
Born on December 1, 1952, in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Glenn was the son of Claude Michaud and Adam and Odette (Rioux) Albert. Throughout his life, Glenn was known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his community.
A well-respected figure in Limestone, Glenn spent many years coaching and contributing to the town in various capacities. His large garden was a source of nourishment for many, reflecting his selflessness and dedication to helping others. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored with the Limestone Rotary “Service Above Self” award in 2023.
Glenn was also an avid sports fan, particularly of New England teams. However, his greatest joy came from following the lives and accomplishments of his daughter and grandchildren. He cherished moments spent fishing, enjoying bonfires, and embracing the fullness of life.
Glenn leaves behind his daughter, Nikki, and his grandchildren Rhianna, Zachariah, Jeremiah, and Gabrielle. He is also survived by his siblings Charlene (Gerry), Micheline, Danny, Cathy (Danny), David (Kathy), Laurie (Jeff), and Paula, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and members of the FHF. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Mariah, as well as his brothers Mike and Jimmy, and in-laws Bobby, Anita, Frank, and Pit.
A celebration of Glenn’s life will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Limestone. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance and refreshments in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Glenn’s memory to the Aroostook House of Comfort, where he received care during his final days. The Michaud family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the facility for their remarkable care and compassion.
Glenn Michaud’s legacy of service and love will continue to inspire the Limestone community. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
