Lorraine Theresa Dreveny Passes Away Peacefully at Age 83 in Chatham Township

Chatham Township, August 27, 2024 — Lorraine Theresa Dreveny, a beloved member of the Chatham Township community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Chatham Township, she was the cherished daughter of the late Maurice and Mary (De Visscher) Landuyt.

Lorraine, known for her loving and nurturing spirit, dedicated her life to her family and community. She found joy in gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, and baking for her loved ones. Lorraine also enjoyed playing the card game weizen with her best friends Elaine, Andy, and her family, creating many cherished memories over the years.

She was the devoted wife of the late Gerald Dreveny, who passed away in 2017, and a loving mother to Jamie, Kathy, and Greg. Her grandchildren, Jeremiah, Chase, Kenzie, Nick, Dylan, and Dawson, as well as her great-granddaughter Genevieve, were the light of her life. Lorraine is also remembered fondly by her siblings and their spouses, Yvonne, Betty, John, Gerald, and Geri, along with many nieces and nephews.

A private family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Dresden, followed by interment at Dresden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to St. Michael’s Building Fund or the Holy Family Youth Ministry.

Lorraine’s passing has touched the hearts of many. On Facebook, friends and family expressed their condolences and shared their memories. Patti Puccio Dreveny wrote, "Heaven gained another beautiful angel this morning… Fly High Grandma and please always keep a watch over us all. We love you!!" Others, like Lorie Lawley Bateh, Jennifer Bridgmon, and Jodi Olson, also shared their heartfelt condolences, expressing their sorrow for the loss of a cherished mother and grandmother.

Lorraine Theresa Dreveny will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
