Miranda, New South Wales – The football community is in mourning following the passing of Bob Rivett, a beloved member of the Miranda Magpies Football Club, who died in the early hours of this morning, August 21, 2024. Rivett’s passing marks the end of an era for the club and the broader football community, where he was known for his dedication, honesty, and immense contributions.

Bob Rivett, affectionately known as Bobby, was a life member of both the Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) and Miranda Magpies FC, receiving these honors in 1995. His influence on the club was profound, helping to shape Miranda Magpies into the respected institution it is today. Rivett’s passion for football and his unwavering commitment to the club have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

The news of Bob’s passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes on social media, particularly from members of the football community who remember him as a guiding force and a dedicated supporter. Brad Bates wrote, “Bobby, you were our heart and soul of the Mighty Magpies. A promoter and massive supporter of local football. Your efforts and passion for our magnificent club will not be matched. You will always remain a legend of the Magpies. RIP, my friend.”

Other members of the community echoed similar sentiments. Giulio Debbie DiStefano shared, “RIP Bob. You will be greatly missed by the Shire Football Family.
