The Princeton RCMP had issued a public request for help after McIlwraith’s family reported him missing on August 19, 2024. Concerned for his well-being, the family last spoke with him while he was in the Princeton area, reportedly staying there for a few days on his way home to Vancouver. He was believed to be driving a 2005 Volkswagen Passat wagon with the BC license plate VP1 47T.
McIlwraith, a Caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes, stands 5’10” and weighs approximately 264 pounds. His sudden disappearance led to a significant concern for his safety, prompting the RCMP to reach out to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts.
The appeal was widely shared, including posts by Crime Stoppers South Okanagan – Similkameen and other community members. The RCMP and the family were deeply concerned, as no contact had been made since August 14.
