Murfreesboro Resident Caterina Hill Identified as Victim in Tragic Hit-and-Run Incident on North Thompson Lane

Murfreesboro, Tennessee – The Murfreesboro Police Department has confirmed the identity of the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run over the weekend as 49-year-old Caterina Hill, a resident of Murfreesboro. Hill’s body was discovered early Sunday morning, lying in the street next to the curb in front of 845 N. Thompson Lane, near the Tangerine Salon and Spa.

According to the preliminary investigation by the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT), Hill was walking southbound on North Thompson Lane when she was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. The vehicle’s driver did not stop after the collision, leaving Hill at the scene, where she may have been for several hours before being found.

The tragic incident has left the community in shock and grief, as the search for the driver continues. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, as even the smallest detail could be critical in identifying the person responsible.

Facebook users have expressed their sorrow and frustration over the incident. Sara M. Allen commented, "That is just so sad." Another user, Sasha Carter, expressed concern about the lack of police presence, stating, "The fact that no police presence was in the area at anytime before that is wild to me. How can a body go that long if police are patrolling properly?"

Other community members shared their thoughts as well. Vicki Large Rasnick wrote, "Prayers for her family, I pray they find out who did this," while Kaila Petro called the hit-and-run driver "the biggest coward" and added, "Rest in Peace."

As the investigation progresses, the Murfreesboro Police Department is reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and is appealing to the public for any information that could help solve this case and bring justice to Caterina Hill’s family.
