Lower Nazareth Township, PA — Susan Henderson, a 67-year-old woman from Norristown, was tragically killed in a fatal collision on Tuesday morning in Lower Nazareth Township. The Pennsylvania State Police identified Henderson as the victim of the accident, which occurred around 10:30 a.m. on State Route 191.
The incident began when a Colonial Regional police officer observed a 2018 Mercedes Benz committing a minor traffic infraction. The driver of the Mercedes, a 27-year-old male, attempted to evade the officer by turning onto Hecktown Road and rapidly accelerating. However, he lost control of the vehicle near 4170 Hecktown Road, leading to a catastrophic head-on collision with a 2017 Kia Sportage driven by Henderson.
Emergency responders quickly transported Henderson to St. Luke’s Anderson Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Northampton County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that Henderson died from multiple blunt force injuries, classifying her death as a homicide.
The driver of the Mercedes and a male passenger were also injured in the crash and were taken to the hospital. Their identities and the extent of their injuries have not been disclosed by the authorities at this time.
