Oskaloosa Mourns the Loss of 18-Year-Old Quinton Scott Harris

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Quinton Scott Harris, a vibrant and beloved 18-year-old from Oskaloosa, has tragically passed away at his home on August 24, 2024. Quinton was born on September 27, 2005, in Killeen, Texas, to Canada Scott and Heather Dawn (Giesken) Harris.

Quinton spent his childhood in Oskaloosa, where he attended both Oskaloosa Elementary and Oskaloosa High School. Recently, he had started working as a machinist at Vermeer Manufacturing. Known for his passion for Mustang cars, sports bikes, and video games, Quinton was a young man full of enthusiasm and love for life. He was also a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos.

The news of Quinton’s passing has deeply affected his family, friends, and the entire Oskaloosa community. Many have taken to Facebook to express their condolences and share memories of Quinton.

Amy Krier wrote, "Many prayers to his family!" while Aaron Pollard shared, "I am sorry." Lynne Rogers commented, "Prayers for his family and friends. So heartbreaking." LaCinda Allard-Shilling echoed the sentiment, saying, "This is so sad."

Another touching tribute came from KrystalanDerrick Carey, who shared, "This is one of my son’s best friends and we are so lost for words. This young man was a joy to have over and he will be deeply missed."

Quinton is survived by his parents, Canada and Heather Harris, and his brothers, Brayden and Garrett Harris. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Marcella Harris of Gallatin, Missouri.

Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date, offering family and friends the opportunity to come together to honor Quinton’s memory. The community mourns the loss of a young life filled with promise and joy.
