Paul "Gus" McCarten Dies Suddenly at 45 While on Family Holiday in Mexico, Ryton RFC Mourns

Ryton, England — The Ryton Rugby Football Club community is grieving the sudden loss of one of its most beloved members, Paul "Gus" McCarten, who passed away today at the age of 45 while on holiday with his family in Mexico.

Paul, a legendary figure at Ryton RFC, was known for his unwavering dedication, passion, and camaraderie. His sudden death has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Ryton rugby community.

Ryton RFC expressed their sorrow on Facebook, stating, "We are very sorry to let you know that our good friend and Ryton RFC legend Paul ‘Gus’ McCarten passed away today while on holiday with his family in Mexico at the age of 45. You leave a huge hole and will be massively missed by all, Gus."

The outpouring of grief and support from the community has been immense. Cheryl Tierney Henderson shared, "My thoughts are with you," while Chris Wilson wrote, "So sad RIP Gus, love to Michelle and the boys." Rebecca Louise Arthur echoed this sentiment, saying, "So much love to Michelle and the boys."
