The accident occurred on August 23, 2024, around 7:11 PM on State Road 43 at the intersection of County Road 100 S, just south of the Town of Reynolds.
According to White County Sheriff Bill Brooks, a blue Honda driven by one of the victims failed to stop at a stop sign at the crossroad, leading to a collision with a white pickup truck and trailer traveling southbound on State Road 43. Both Pedro and Tatiana, who were graduates of Bishop Noll and residents of East Chicago and Hammond respectively, were pronounced dead at the scene.
