Pedro Flores Jr. and Tatiana Jimenez Tragically Die in White County Crash, Leaving East Chicago Community in Mourning

East Chicago, Indiana – Pedro Flores Jr., a former Purdue University Northwest student, and Tatiana Jimenez, a Valparaiso University graduate, both lost their lives in a tragic car accident in White County, Indiana. The accident occurred on August 23, 2024, around 7:11 PM on State Road 43 at the intersection of County Road 100 S, just south of the Town of Reynolds.

According to White County Sheriff Bill Brooks, a blue Honda driven by one of the victims failed to stop at a stop sign at the crossroad, leading to a collision with a white pickup truck and trailer traveling southbound on State Road 43. Both Pedro and Tatiana, who were graduates of Bishop Noll and residents of East Chicago and Hammond respectively, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The sudden deaths of Pedro and Tatiana have sent shockwaves through their community, where they were both well-loved and respected. Pedro was known for his infectious smile and positive energy, traits that made him a cherished friend and companion. Tatiana, with her bright future and achievements, was equally adored by those who knew her.

Two bright, beautiful souls with promising futures taken way too soon.”

Tammy Moore Stajcic speculated that the sun might have played a role in the accident, saying, “If they were traveling westbound on 100 S the sun may have been blinding. The sun is in a precarious position this time of year as it sets. Prayers for comfort for the families.”
