Pensacola, Florida – The Pensacola community is grieving the sudden loss of Michael Lapointe, a well-loved figure in the local American Poolplayers Association (APA) circles. Michael, affectionately known as "Mike," passed away unexpectedly on Friday night, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and fierce competition within the APA leagues in Pensacola and West Florida.
The tragic news has brought together friends, family, and fellow pool enthusiasts who are expressing their deep sorrow and offering support to Michael’s family. A fundraiser has been organized by Danielle Lapointe, Michael’s daughter, to help cover the funeral expenses. So far, $300 has been raised toward the $5,000 goal, with donations from friends like Hannah Logan, Lucero Krivanek, and Melissa Craig.

The Pensacola APA took to Facebook to express their sorrow, noting how Michael embodied the spirit of the APA and formed close bonds with many in the community. The post stated, "Keep Running Heavenly Racks Mike… you will be missed!" Plans are being made for a Celebration of Life benefit tournament in his honor.
