Peoria, Illinois – The Peoria Police Department is urgently requesting assistance from the public to help locate Marquita Britton, a 41-year-old woman who has been reported missing. Britton was last seen on August 17th, 2024, in the 1000 block of S. Blaine in Peoria. Her disappearance was reported to the Peoria Police on August 20th, 2024.
Britton, described as a Black female, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing around 187 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair. It has been noted that her hair is currently shorter than in previous photos. Her vehicle was last seen near the War Memorial Drive Exit on Southbound Route 6.
The Peoria Police Department is urging anyone who has seen Britton or has information regarding her whereabouts to contact Detective Harwood immediately at (309) 494-8388.
The community has expressed concern and support through various posts on social media. Connie Dallefeld shared, "Prayers for safe return home!!!," while Cris Cotelleso Price added, "Sending many prayers she is found safe." Another concerned individual, Jeanette Proctor, expressed her worry, "Praying she’s found safely."
Adell Moore commented on the situation, saying, "Wonder why they keep doing this!! They said she was missing before and never got an update so I guess she surfaced to be missing again!!! Just in case." Other community members, including Linda Barnes and Pearl Mabry, have also shared their prayers for Britton’s safe return.
The Peoria community continues to rally together in hopes of Britton’s safe return.
