Carencro, LA – The memory of Sandra Nunley-Oleske, a dedicated interior designer who passed away on November 2, 2022, is being honored through a newly established memorial scholarship fund at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Sandra’s husband, Eric Oleske, has launched this fund to support students pursuing careers in interior design.
Sandra was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2022 and fought courageously throughout the year, ultimately overcoming the disease. Her positive outlook was a source of strength, enabling her to return to the work she loved. However, despite being cancer-free, Sandra’s weakened immune system led to an infection, which tragically resulted in her passing.
In memory of Sandra’s dedication and passion, the memorial scholarship fund aims to provide financial assistance to students in the Interior Design program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Eric Oleske has committed that 100% of the donations will go directly to the program, ensuring Sandra’s legacy continues to impact the lives of aspiring interior designers.
Eric Oleske expressed his gratitude to the community, stating, "Thank you to all our amazing customers; the last year has been a fun ride, and meeting everyone has been fun." He also shared his long-term goal of making the memorial fund a permanent fixture to continually support college students in need.
Those wishing to contribute to the Sandra Nunley-Oleske Memorial Scholarship Fund can do so through the GoFundMe page established by Eric Oleske. The fundraiser currently has a goal of $6,000.
The community has shown an outpouring of support on social media. Comments on Facebook include heartfelt messages such as:
- "Sending prayers that she is found safe." – Raffaella Desiderio Nichols
- "Oh no, Abby! Sharing this info and praying for her safe return." – TD Silverstein

These messages reflect the love and support Sandra Nunley-Oleske’s legacy continues to inspire in those who knew her and those who have come to learn about her story.
