Sarasota’s Beloved Singer and Educator Charlie Snider Remembered – Community Mourns His Passing

Sarasota, Florida – The Sarasota community is mourning the loss of Charlie Snider, a beloved singer, educator, and advocate for barbershop harmony, who passed away recently. Charlie was a dedicated member of the Sarasota Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society and spent his career encouraging young singers to discover the joy of music.

In memory of Charlie, a fundraiser has been organized by his family to establish the Charlie Snider Memorial Youth Musical Education Fund. This fund aims to provide scholarships for young singers, ensuring that his passion for music education continues to inspire future generations. The fundraiser has raised $370 so far, with donations coming from friends and supporters who share Charlie’s commitment to preserving the barbershop harmony tradition.

Several members of the community expressed their condolences on Facebook, sharing their memories and heartfelt messages. Jefferson Bruce Veteto posted, “Farewell to a wonderful man, singer, and friend, Charlie Snider. Comfort and hugs to Sherie D Snider.” Digger J. R. MacDougall added, “Sincere condolences to family, risermates, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Charlie. Rest in peace.”
