Search Efforts Intensify for Missing Climber Daniel Gabriel in North Cascades National Park

North Cascades National Park, Washington – The search for Daniel Gabriel, a 42-year-old climber, has intensified as North Cascades National Park officials continue their efforts to locate him. Gabriel, who was climbing Mount Shuksan via the Fisher Chimneys route, has been missing since the beginning of this week, with his last known activity between Monday, August 19, 2024, and Friday, August 23, 2024.

Authorities have been actively engaged in search and rescue operations across various challenging terrains, including the Price Cross-country Zone, Upper Curtis Glacier, Sulphide Glacier, and the Shuksan Summit Pyramid. The North Cascades National Park Service has urged anyone with information or who was in these areas during the specified dates to come forward. Tips can be submitted via the park’s Tip Line or email.
