Skokie Resident Danny McCoy, 68, Found Deceased Inside Vehicle at Buffalo Grove Grocery Store Parking Lot

Buffalo Grove, Illinois – The suburban community of Buffalo Grove was struck by tragedy on Saturday afternoon when the body of 68-year-old Danny McCoy, a resident of Skokie, was discovered inside a vehicle parked at a local grocery store. The incident took place at Woodman’s Food Market, located at 1550 Deerfield Parkway.

Authorities were alerted to the scene just before 3 p.m. after receiving a call about a foul odor emanating from a blue Chevrolet Equinox parked on the south end of the grocery store’s lot. Concerned for the well-being of the individual inside the vehicle, Buffalo Grove police and fire units responded promptly. Upon arrival, they found McCoy unresponsive. Despite their efforts, it was determined that he had already passed away.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene, where they confirmed McCoy’s identity. Preliminary autopsy results suggest that McCoy died of natural causes, although the exact cause of death has not been publicly disclosed. This finding indicates that no foul play was involved, providing some closure to the investigation.

The presence of numerous emergency personnel at the scene drew considerable attention from passersby and shoppers at the busy grocery store. The authorities remained on site for more than three hours to ensure all necessary procedures were followed during the investigation.

The discovery of Danny McCoy’s body has left both the Skokie and Buffalo Grove communities deeply saddened. Friends, neighbors, and family members are now mourning the loss of a beloved figure in their lives. As they grieve, they remember McCoy for the kindness and familiarity he brought to those around him, rather than the tragic circumstances of his passing.
