Sonia Romero Passes Away After Long Battle with Leukemia, Family Seeks Help with Funeral Expenses in San Pablo, CA

San Pablo, CA – Sonia Romero, a beloved grandmother, passed away on August 26, 2024, after a prolonged and courageous battle with leukemia. Her granddaughter, Emily Jane, has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to support the expenses associated with Sonia’s funeral.

Sonia Romero’s health struggles began in 2023 when doctors discovered a tumor at the back of her head, necessitating surgery. Following the surgery in July 2023, it was found that cancer had spread extensively through her back. Despite receiving a prognosis of only six months to a year, Sonia fought bravely against the disease.

Tragically, the leukemia left her extremely weak, preventing her from walking, talking, or even eating and drinking. For the last two and a half months, Sonia was bedridden, requiring around-the-clock care. Despite her family’s best efforts, the cancer spread throughout her body, leading to internal bleeding that ultimately caused her death.

In memory of Sonia, Emily Jane has launched a fundraiser to cover the costs of her grandmother’s funeral. Emily expressed the family’s deep gratitude for any contributions, emphasizing that every dollar counts. The family is urging those who can help to donate and share the message to assist with the funeral expenses.

The fundraiser, which aims to raise $11,000, has just started, with no contributions yet. Emily Jane is calling on the community to support Sonia Romero’s memorial fund in any way possible, ensuring her grandmother receives a proper farewell.
