Spokane Resident Joel Lange Passes Away After Cardiac Arrest, Family Launches Fundraiser to Cover Medical Bills

Spokane, WA – Joel Lange, a lifelong resident of Spokane, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Joel’s death followed a cardiac arrest and ten days of intensive care in the hospital’s ICU.

Joel Lange was known for his generosity, kindness, and a great sense of humor that touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind his wife, Rachel, of 23 years, and their 18-year-old son, Landon. Joel’s passing has left his family with substantial medical bills, prompting family friend Ginger Metcalf to organize a fundraiser to help cover these expenses.

Ginger Metcalf, who initiated the fundraiser on GoFundMe, described Joel as someone with a "huge smile and a bigger heart," always ready to help others. She is urging those who knew and loved Joel to contribute to the fund, which aims to reach an $80,000 goal. The money raised will help Rachel Lange manage the medical and end-of-life costs.
