Stark County Resident Ashley Shumaker Found Dead in Her Home; Coroner’s Office Investigates Homicide

Stark County, Ohio – Ashley Shumaker, a 37-year-old resident of Stark County, was found dead in her home late Sunday night, and the Stark County Coroner’s Office is now treating her death as a homicide.

The investigation began after a 911 call was made at 10:29 p.m. on Sunday, reporting an emergency at Shumaker’s residence on Coldale Street NE. When authorities arrived, they found the situation to be dire. Due to the severity of the circumstances, emergency medical services did not transport Shumaker to the hospital, and she was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:12 a.m. on Monday, according to Chief Investigator Harry Campbell of the Stark County Coroner’s Office.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into this tragic event. While details regarding the cause of death have not been released, authorities are diligently gathering evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding Shumaker’s death.
